Field conditioners should be at the heart of your field maintenance program. They are calcined clay products that aid in moisture management. They are made of the same material as many kitty litters and oil dry products but are fired at a hotter temperature. Think of the granules as little sponges that absorb water and then release it back into your infield dirt. Field conditioners also keep your field from becoming hard in sun baked conditions.
2019 - Even though the names on the bags have changed for 2019 we still are selling the same great materials we have for the past 11 years. This year we became a manufacturer’s dealer which allows us to pass along savings to you. Play Ball!® Drying Agent
Play Ball!® Drying Agent can be used to absorb excess mois-
ture of any turf area, infield-skinned surfaces, mound and
home plate areas . The drying agent’s professional sized gra-
dation provides the durability and absorption to reduce rain
delays and eliminate rainouts. Exact same product we’ve sold
as Sure Dry for years.
Play Ball! Conditioner Application Recommendations.
Application rates vary as to individual preference and field conditions. Field drainage, infield dirt percolation rates and slope will affect the way a field will shed water. The figures below correspond to the square feet of the skinned area x an application rate of 1.125 lbs. per square foot which should cover the area 1/4" deep. The application should then be nail dragged into the field to a depth of 3/4".
